Desiccated Self

Photo paper, foam board

Photos of the artist chronicling their appearance before coming out as transgender and throughout their transition are cut and woven into a single form as a commentary on the way trans bodies are simultaneously exoticised and neglected. This work is an expression of the artists desire for trans people to be seen as complete human beings on a journey or liberatory self discovery that enrich the world.
